Avanlee Care announced $3.5 million in new seed funding on Nov. 5, bringing its total capital raised to $6 million as the family caregiving platform expands its push into Medicare Advantage.
The company says the latest round was led by BEA Venture Fund and included Esther Dyson, Chrysalis Ventures and FairBridge VC, according to Fierce Healthcare. Pulse2 also reported that the company’s total funding now stands at $6 million and attributed the financing to supporters associated with BEA Venture Fund and Fairbridge VC, while noting that underlying transaction documentation was not located.
Avanlee Care, founded in 2020 by Avanlee Christine and Chris Monson, operates from Billings, Montana, and New York, and links health plans directly with family caregivers. Fierce Healthcare described the company as having started as a direct-to-consumer app before moving into enterprise, while Forbes separately reported that the company operates from Billings and New York and connects health plans with family caregivers.
What does Avanlee Care do for caregivers and health plans?
Avanlee Care provides a platform that helps Medicare Advantage plans and other organizations engage caregivers and measure impact across member populations. On the caregiver side, the product supports appointment scheduling, medication management, retailer connections, communication with a plan or provider, vaccination reminders and provider search.
The platform also includes wellness tools such as a weekly stress questionnaire and educational resources covering estate planning, life planning and legal services. Caregivers can add relatives to the platform, and Avanlee also facilitates grocery delivery through Walmart.
For payer customers, Avanlee says the platform provides insight into caregiver burnout, member health trends, appointment bookings, home health services and medication adherence. Fierce Healthcare reported that 59% of past users engaged with caregiver wellness tools, and that more than half of consistent users reported lower overall stress. The company also said its DTC product supported thousands of families and saved caregivers thousands of hours.
How will Avanlee use the new capital?
Avanlee says it will use the financing to expand across the Medicare Advantage market and strengthen partnerships with health plans, healthcare providers and pharmacies. Fierce Healthcare reported that the company is discussing a rollout with an undisclosed national Medicare Advantage plan for members with an assigned caregiver, with a potential initial pilot involving thousands of members and broader expansion planned for mid-2027.
The company is also pursuing a separate integration with an unnamed national pharmacy partner for medication delivery. Avanlee said it is already fully integrated with Mark Cuban Cost Plus Drugs as its lead pharmacy partner for discounted medications, and Mark Cuban told Fierce Healthcare that Cost Plus Drug Company is working with Avanlee around lower-cost medications for unpaid family caregivers and care recipients.
Pulse2 reported that Avanlee maintains operations in Montana while building a New York business development team led by Eric Scott, who has more than 16 years of Medicare Advantage experience.
Where does AI fit into Avanlee’s product roadmap?
Avanlee is adding AI features for audio note summaries, provider recommendations and resource matching. Fierce Healthcare reported that the recommendation engine uses medication, condition and social-needs information, and that the company’s AI features run on AWS Bedrock with requests kept inside Avanlee’s cloud environment.
The company’s use of AI appears aimed at making the caregiver workflow more actionable rather than replacing the core coordination layer. In practice, that means summarizing caregiver notes, helping surface relevant providers or services and matching users to resources based on the data already flowing through the platform.
Avanlee also said it eventually wants to expand to dual-eligible populations. For now, the company’s stated near-term focus remains Medicare Advantage, where it is trying to turn caregiver engagement and stress data into a product that health plans can pay for on a per-member-per-month basis while caregivers use it for free.
