Anthropic expanded its Claude Startups program on Oct. 6, 2026, adding a larger package of credits, free team access and partner offers for founders building AI products. The company said approved startups can now receive $1,000 in Claude API credits immediately, one year of Claude Team for up to five Premium seats, and access to up to $45,000 in offers from participating partners.

The update broadens a program Anthropic said it launched in May and which, according to CNBC, already has thousands of participating companies. Anthropic said the startup package is aimed at founders and fast-growing companies building AI products.

What does Anthropic’s startup package include?

Anthropic’s startup package combines its own products with third-party startup offers. The company said the in-house portion can be worth up to $7,000 before partner benefits, based on one year of Claude Team with five Premium seats billed annually plus the one-time API credit. Anthropic also said the broader Claude Startup Stack can provide up to $45,000 in discounts and credits across tools a startup uses for functions such as sales, design and data engineering.

The API credit is limited to Anthropic’s first-party Claude API through Claude Console and does not apply to AWS Bedrock, Google Cloud Vertex AI or other third-party platforms. Anthropic said the $1,000 credit expires six months after it is granted, and members who receive startup credits automatically get higher API rate limits.

The free Claude Team year is limited to approved members new to Claude Team and covers up to five Premium seats for one year. Anthropic said existing members do not need to reapply to access the newly added partner offers in the console.

Who can qualify for Claude Startups?

Anthropic said the program is open to bootstrapped, pre-seed and venture-backed startups, not just VC-backed companies. On its program page, the company said startups qualify if they were founded within the last five years or received funding within the last two years.

Applicants need a Claude Console account, a company email that matches their website domain and a short description of what they are building. Anthropic said most applications are decided within minutes, while manual reviews usually take two to three business days.

The company also said founders backed by a VC in its partner network can get up to $100,000 in additional API credits through their investor. Separate from the program’s direct benefits, Anthropic said approved members can use the initial API credit right away to wire up the API, test ideas and run early evaluations.

How is Anthropic trying to support founders beyond credits?

Anthropic said the program includes office hours with its Applied AI team. On the program page, those office hours are described as 45-minute live sessions held every other week. Members also get access to startup events including Founder House, hackathons and meetups, plus a startup newsletter with product and ecosystem news and a chance to be featured.

The company also said members can get help building and submitting a Claude Marketplace listing for connectors and plugins. Anthropic said Claude Marketplace is where Claude users find connectors and plugins, and that an approved listing puts a startup’s product in front of them across Claude apps.

Anthropic also promoted Claude Code to startups as a coding product that can work across code to build, debug and ship software from natural-language instructions. It also highlighted Claude Managed Agents as a product for creating production agents with MCP, code execution and tool use.

Which partner offers are in the stack?

Anthropic’s startup stack page lists third-party offers that can be redeemed with codes in Claude Console. Anthropic said the offers come from independent companies rather than Anthropic itself, and that their total value estimate is based on partner list prices as of September 2026, with actual value depending on redemptions, plan and team size.

The listed offers include Attention at 20% off the first year with a seven-day free trial, Augment Code with $100 in Cosmos credits, ClickHouse with $5,000 in ClickHouse Cloud credits, ElevenLabs with 12 months free plus 33 million characters, Emergent with 20% off for the first six months, Firecrawl with 2.5 times a plan’s monthly credits for a year, Gamma with 25% off the first year of Gamma Pro annual, and Granola with three months of Business free for up to 10 seats.

Anthropic said the broader startup package is intended to cover tools a startup runs on, from sales to design to data engineering, and that the new stack is meant to make those tools easier to access through Claude Console. The company said the startup program’s direct benefits and partner offers can be used together by eligible founders, depending on their status and whether they are new to Claude Team.
