Dallas startup UpSmith announced a $10 million Series A on October 5, 2026, saying the new capital will help it expand its AI platform for home-services contractors, grow its engineering team, and broaden distribution across the industry.
What did UpSmith announce in its Series A?
UpSmith said on October 5, 2026 that it had raised $10 million in Series A funding to expand its AI platform for home-services contractors. According to the company and later reporting from Pulse 2 and Dallas Innovates, the round was led by SemperVirens and marks the startup’s largest round to date.
The Dallas-based company said the financing will support engineering hiring and broader distribution across the home-services industry. Dallas Innovates also reported that UpSmith plans to add account executives and partnerships as it pushes further into sales.
Who participated in the round?
The Series A included Hannah Grey Ventures, Asymmetric Capital Partners, CIV, Synetro Group, WaterStone Impact Fund, Colin M. Evans at Sandwith Ventures, Deason Capital Services, and OpenGov co-founder Zachary Bookman, according to Pulse 2 and The SaaS News.
Pulse 2 and Dallas Innovates said Allison Baum Gates of SemperVirens and Rob Biederman of Asymmetric Capital Partners will join UpSmith’s board. Pulse 2 also reported that Asymmetric Capital Partners provided UpSmith’s first institutional financing in 2022 and has participated in every financing round since.
What does UpSmith sell to contractors?
UpSmith builds AI tools for home-services contractors, with an initial focus on electricians, plumbers, and HVAC businesses. The company said its platform targets revenue opportunities such as open estimates, missed calls, overdue maintenance, expiring memberships, and inactive customers.
UpSmith also said its AI agents can provide insights, answer calls, book jobs, close estimates, renew memberships, and bring back inactive customers. Alongside the financing, the company announced a new AI voice agent designed to handle inbound customer calls and said it is rolling out a unified customer timeline that combines customer interactions and job activity into one record.
Dallas Innovates reported that inbound-call data will be linked with each customer’s UpSmith history.
What traction did UpSmith report with customers?
UpSmith says it serves more than 200 home-services operators across the U.S. and that its technology has helped contractors book thousands of jobs and recover millions of dollars in revenue. The company is also a certified ServiceTitan ecosystem partner, according to Pulse 2.
Pulse 2 reported several customer results that UpSmith attributed to its platform. The company said Ohio-based Five Star Home Services saw cancellations fall 34% after using UpSmith. It also said Texas-based Medley AC generated $147,000 in new revenue within three months while reducing cancellations by 25%.
Pulse 2 further reported that HomeTown Services, a Texas-based multi-trade company operating across five states, used UpSmith on more than 5,000 completed jobs in 2026, with the company attributing those jobs to recovered unsold estimates.
What comes next for the Dallas startup?
UpSmith said the new capital will go toward expanding its engineering team and increasing distribution across the home-services industry. Dallas Innovates reported that the company currently employs 15 people, most of them in Dallas, and that about half of the staff works in engineering and product development.
CEO Wyatt Smith told Dallas Innovates that UpSmith plans to increase investment in AI product development over the next 12 to 18 months by expanding the engineering team. The company also said adding account executives is another priority, with sales focused on small and midsize HVAC, plumbing and electrical contractors as well as multibrand home-services platforms that operate dozens of local companies.
UpSmith was founded in 2022 and is headquartered in Dallas.
