NuSynth Technologies said on October 13, 2026, that it raised ₹36.5 crore, or about $4 million, in seed funding co-led by Avaana Capital and Shastra VC as it builds an AI-enabled process-innovation platform for complex chemistry.
What did NuSynth raise, and who led the round?
NuSynth Technologies said it raised ₹36.5 crore in seed funding on October 13, 2026, in a round co-led by Avaana Capital and Shastra VC. Business Standard reported the amount as about $4 million. The transaction is being described as equity seed funding, and the available reporting does not disclose a valuation, individual investor cheque sizes, liquidation terms or any debt component.
The startup is building an R&D-led process-innovation platform for complex chemistry. Reporting from ETPharma and Business Standard says the company combines experimental data with AI-enabled capabilities to support molecule selection, experimentation and commercial scale-up.
What problem is NuSynth trying to solve?
NuSynth is targeting the challenge of manufacturing complex chemicals more efficiently. Business Standard said India still relies on complex, multi-step synthesis routes for many critical molecules, which can increase costs and import dependence.
The company says it redesigns chemical processes from first principles by re-evaluating starting materials, reaction pathways and process economics. According to ETEntrepreneur, the goal is not to make incremental process tweaks but to improve cost efficiency, yield, cycle time, safety and sustainability.
NuSynth’s platform uses experimental data to feed an AI engine that builds a proprietary knowledge base. Business Standard said that system is intended to speed up future molecule selection, experimentation and commercial scale-up, shortening R&D gestation cycles.
Where will NuSynth start, and how does it plan to scale?
NuSynth said it is initially targeting pharmaceuticals and electronics chemicals, with ETEntrepreneur saying it plans to extend its process-innovation capabilities to other chemistry-led industries over time. Business Standard also said the company is beginning with pharmaceuticals and electronic chemicals.
Inc42 reported that NuSynth works with Indian manufacturing partners to move processes from laboratory validation toward industrial production, describing the company as following an asset-light manufacturing model. According to that report, Avaana Capital said NuSynth’s processes aim to reduce steps, eliminate hazardous reagents, lower temperature requirements and replace solvent-intensive processes with catalytic and water-based alternatives.
ETEntrepreneur said the company is building around proprietary process intellectual property developed in India for global commercial applications. CEO Poorvank Purohit said NuSynth wants to build proprietary processes from India that deliver better economics and sustainability for global customers.
Who is behind NuSynth, and what happens next?
ETEntrepreneur identified four founders: Poorvank Purohit, Dr. Ramesha A. R., Abhishek Deo and Dipak Bajaj. Business Standard said Purohit was previously managing director and CEO of Solara Active Pharma Sciences, while Dr. Ramesha A R was a postdoctoral researcher at NIH in Washington and has a PhD from IISc. The same report said Abhishek Deo and Dipak Bajaj bring commercial and operating experience from Zetwerk, Mstack, Ola, JPMorgan, BlackBuck and SUN Mobility.
The company said the new capital will fund research and development, technology capabilities, an initial portfolio of proprietary chemical processes, scale-up capabilities and team expansion. Avaana Capital partner Shruti Srivastava said the firm believes NuSynth can improve economics, resource efficiency and resilience across critical sectors. Shastra VC managing partner Avijeet Alagathi said the startup’s mix of scientific depth, industry experience, execution capability, data and AI engine makes it a differentiated platform.
For now, NuSynth is using the seed money to build out its technical stack and move more processes from lab-level validation toward industrial execution. The company has not disclosed a valuation or other deal terms, so the round’s eventual impact will depend on how quickly it can turn its chemistry platform into repeatable manufacturing outcomes.
