LaunchLNK has opened applications for its 2027 grant cohort, offering six $20,000 non-dilutive awards to early-stage startups that are based in Lincoln or can establish a presence there during the grant year. Applications are due Oct. 16, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. CST, and the program also includes more than $23,000 in in-kind support from partners.

LaunchLNK has opened applications for its 2027 cohort of non-dilutive $20,000 grants for startups tied to Lincoln, Nebraska, with applications due Oct. 16, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. CST. The program is aimed at early-stage scalable startups that want to get established and grow in Lincoln, and LaunchLNK says it will choose six recipients.

Silicon Prairie News first reported on Oct. 7 that applications were open and that the grants are worth $20,000 each. KLIN reported earlier, on Sept. 22, that the next grant cycle was open and that LaunchLNK would select six companies.

Who can apply for the LaunchLNK grant?

LaunchLNK says the grant is open to early-stage scalable startups that have a goal or vision for business growth and scalability. Applicants must be based in Lincoln or be able to have a presence in Lincoln during the grant year. The organization also says all industries and company types are welcome, and prior applicants may reapply as long as they have not previously received a LaunchLNK grant.

The chamber-backed program appears designed to pull in a broad range of founders, not just tech startups. KLIN reported that participating businesses have come from technology, agriculture, and traditional small-business sectors.

LaunchLNK says strong applicants can clearly explain the problem they are solving, who experiences it, and why it matters. It also prioritizes companies where the grant could help drive revenue, job creation, and additional capital investment in Lincoln.

What do recipients receive besides cash?

Each of the six selected startups will receive a $20,000 cash grant paid to the company, but LaunchLNK says the money is distributed only when the business meets milestones defined with the program manager. Recipients also get more than $23,000 in in-kind services and benefits from the partner network.

Those benefits include partner discounts, capital introductions, mentor connections, introductions to local corporations, and a year of hot-desk access at The Combine Incubator, pending availability. LaunchLNK says those non-cash benefits are part of the program’s broader effort to help founders build local relationships and move through early growth stages.

KLIN quoted Abby Bartholomew as saying the funding is non-dilutive, meaning founders do not have to give up ownership in exchange for the grant. That structure makes the award different from equity financing, which is often the tradeoff startups face when raising capital.

How does the application process work?

LaunchLNK says its 2027 application process has three rounds. The first round is a roughly 45-minute application due Oct. 16, with results expected by Oct. 23. The second round is due Nov. 20 and covers the product, business model, competition, and growth. The third round is a 30-minute virtual panel pitch and Q&A, and six recipients are expected to be announced by year-end.

This year, LaunchLNK is also piloting a risk assessment tool built by a local founder as part of the application. The group says the updated application is intended to provide structured, objective feedback and create a more level playing field for judging.

LaunchLNK says six recipients will be chosen from a competitive applicant pool that typically draws 50 to 100 applications per cycle. The organization also lists the 2026 winners as DineU, Doomsun, Grazestat, Kimto, MicroFarm OS, and Rheam Medical.

Why does LaunchLNK say the program matters?

LaunchLNK and the Lincoln Chamber have framed the grant as an early bet on local companies they hope will stay and grow in the city. KLIN quoted Chamber president Jason Ball as saying the program is meant to help build the startup ecosystem by investing early, and that businesses are likely to stay where they start.

Bartholomew told KLIN that 42 companies have participated in LaunchLNK over the program’s nine-year history and that those businesses have collectively attracted $115 million in follow-on investment. KLIN also reported that the Chamber says 76% of participating companies remain in business.

The outlet also cited Bartholomew saying 2024 recipient Larkspur Upholstery Studio has averaged 38% annual growth and now supports five employees plus contractors. LaunchLNK’s site lists winning cohorts going back to 2018, including 2025, 2024, 2023, 2022, 2021, 2020, 2019, and 2018.
