Endeavor Catalyst closed its oversubscribed $320 million Fund V on October 7, 2026, a new vehicle the firm says is aimed at founders building companies outside the main U.S. tech centers.
The co-investment fund, which typically invests 10% of a financing round, takes Endeavor Catalyst’s assets under management to more than $850 million. Endeavor said Fund V is its largest fund to date and 10 times the size of its first fund. The firm also said the new fund should attract at least $3.2 billion in fresh capital to Endeavor entrepreneurs.
What does Fund V invest in?
Fund V is designed to co-invest alongside other institutional backers in rounds for Endeavor Entrepreneurs. Endeavor Catalyst said it usually comes in when an entrepreneur raises at least $5 million in a round led by another institutional investor. The firm said it expects to make 40 to 50 investments a year and to back as many as 150 companies with the new fund.
Endeavor also said Fund V is intended to support startups outside the main U.S. tech hubs, with Latin America described as Catalyst’s largest region. According to DiarioBitcoin, nearly 90% of Endeavor Catalyst’s investments are outside the United States. Endeavor’s first Catalyst investment was in Globant in Argentina, which later became the first Latin American technology company to IPO on the NYSE.
Who is backing the fund?
Endeavor said Fund V is backed by founders of Nubank, Revolut, LinkedIn, Snowflake, Checkout.com, Globant and Careem, among others. The firm added that more than 120 Endeavor Entrepreneurs have invested in Fund V.
Endeavor Catalyst said it has written more than 400 checks into Endeavor companies. It also said its portfolio now includes 83 companies valued at $1 billion or more.
How has the portfolio grown so far?
BusinessDay NG reported that Endeavor Catalyst’s overall portfolio reached 437 companies across 44 markets after the Fund V close. The publication also said Fund V had already deployed $55.7 million through 32 investments in 30 companies and expects to deploy an additional $25 million to $30 million before the end of 2026.
BusinessDay also said Endeavor Catalyst has invested more than $500 million across 469 investments since inception, including follow-ons. In Africa, its portfolio has grown from zero a decade ago to 29 companies across five markets, with six African portfolio companies now valued at $1 billion or more. BusinessDay said Africa represents 7% of Endeavor Catalyst’s portfolio and 7% of its invested capital, and that the firm has backed seven Nigerian companies: Flutterwave, Moniepoint, TradeDepot, LemFi, Zone, MAX and Moove.
What else is happening in venture capital?
Portage said it closed Ventures Fund IV at $600 million and separately disclosed a $10.5 million Series A for Kontempo, a company building an AI-powered operating system for industrial credit. In Spain, El Confidencial reported that Andalusia’s regional government is seeking more than 60 projects to invest €76.7 million through three venture capital funds by the end of 2030, while a separate defense, security and aerospace fund was reported to be launching with up to €500 million in capital.
El Confidencial also reported that Mar Océana Venture Capital Investments starts with €12.12 million, including €9.8 million public and €2.32 million private capital, to invest in tech and digital startups in Andalusia. The vehicle plans to write tickets of €300,000 to €400,000, with a maximum of €600,000 per company, targeting startups that are less than seven years old and generating less than €1 million in revenue.
